ASYMMETRIC TOURING

The asymmetric touring blade combines a number of features that make it a Jack of all trades.

The blade outline loads more area into the top half of the blade making the catch softer and moving the power part of the stroke to the mid stroke where the paddler is strongest.

The blade is modestly dished both across the face and lengthwise making the asymmetric touring a very stable blade that has found favour in nearly every discipline of kayaking.

This blade has been used for slalom racing, wild water racing, sea touring, white water trekking as well general recreational paddling.

The strong back rib, innovative blade shape and soft catch make it an all day, all conditions dependable no worries paddle.

Blade size 17 cm wide by 48cm long.

Available in fibreglass, heavy duty fibreglass or carbon construction.

Weights  780 to 1000 gm.

MAKO SLALOM

The Mako slalom blade was designed to meet the needs of the budget conscious slalom paddler or for the guys that were sick of snapping those smooth back European imports.

The addition of a strong back rib let us strengthen the blade and reduce the cost of production.

The blade does all that you would expect a slalom blade to do. Strong forward power and excellent sweep, draw and stern rudder control.

This versatile blade has also escaped the confines of the slalom gates and found favour with the white water fraternity and the wave ski crowd.

Blade size  17 cm wide by 46 cm long.

Available in fibreglass, heavy duty fibreglass or carbon construction.

Weights  850 to 1000 gm.

MAKO CLASSIC

The Mako classic is our take on the perennial favourite teardrop conventional racing paddle.

This is the blade that we all racing with back in the 1980s and is now also a popular touring blade.

For good reasons too, good entry, solid catch and stable power delivery.

SPECTRUM WING by MAKO

These paddle blades have been designed by Jan Horak of Spectrum Skis.

The Spectrum blades are unique in that they have two curves interacting with each other.  One curve is 60 degrees off the centre line and the other is 30 degrees off the perpendicular giving a blade that flows nicely in the water whilst rewarding a more natural paddling style. The twist in the blades eases strain on the forearms.

The Spectrum blade is unique in the way that it catches the water so that the blade delivers the same power throughout the whole stroke.

Spectrum propeller paddles come in various blade sizes and degrees of layback. Type 1 and Type 2 differ in the angle that the blade is attached to the shaft. The Type one has less layback than the Type 2 and is mainly used for wild water racing. The Sea Kayak wing has a different cut on the tip to facilitate a clean entry when paddling with a wider/lower stroke.

All blades facilitate exceptionally clean entry and exit.
